Environmentally safe
Every health-conscious family can breathe more easily with a Kahrs floor. It contains fewer chemicals and virtually no harmful chemical
emissions. All of our boards are kiln-dried and packaged in commercial heavy-duty plastic to maintain the moisture content at 7% (approx. 40% RH). This packaging ensures a precisely fi tting floor that will arrive in the best condition, ready for installation.

Guarantee
Kahrs has been manufacturing quality multi-layered wood floors for more than 60 years. We are proud of our products, which have a
factory applied finish and in the case of 15mm fl oors, a top layer that can be sanded several times. Combined with a complete care and
maintenance programme, this allows Kahrs to offer a guarantee of 30 years for the 15 mm flooring range and 12 years for the 7 mm (Linnea) range. NB. Linnea cannot be sanded to bare wood.

Woodloc, the strongest joint
We were the first floor manufacturer to use this revolutionary method of joining boards. Woodloc not only makes installation easier, it also makes the joints tighter.
Wood is a natural material that is affected by humidity changes throughout the year. This subjects the joints to great stress. The Woodloc joint has proved superior to traditional joints in withstanding this type of stress, without gapping.
The entire joint construction is made of wood, and completely integrated with the board without the addition of any foreign material.

The easiest installation
Laying a Kahrs floor means less work. Much of the explanation lies in the ingenious Woodloc joint. The boards lock together mechanically,
with virtually invisible joints. In addition to producing perfect results, it also makes installation quick and simple. The fit is also important for the durability of the floor.

Kahrs and underfloor heating
Ideal partners are Kahrs 15 mm multi-layer parquet floors or Kahrs 7 mm Linnea floors.
Kahrs parquet can be laid over underfl oor heating, which must distribute the heat efficiently and evenly across the floor. The surface
temperature of the floor must never exceed 27 Celcius. This also applies near radiator pipes and under any rugs, etc.
Multi-layer floors in Beech and Hard Maple expand and contract more than others and underfl oor heating causes extra shrinkage. In cold or dry environments, such as in Scandinavia, gaps between strips and boards may occur.

The best climate stability
Since wood is a natural material, that is affected by climatic changes, a wood floor moves with the seasons. To minimise movement, it is important to obtain the right balance between the different layers in each board's top, core and backing and also the right dimensions for each layer.
Kahrs has devoted a great deal of research into finding the perfect balance between the layers. The result is a wood floor with minimal seasonal movement.

|
The strongest surface
The surface of the fl oor is, visually, the most important part. The surface treatment should, therefore, be strong enough to withstand
daily wear and tear, but thin enough so as not to disguise the wood's lustre.
For Kahrs, both looks and durability are equally important. That is why we have an extra-strong lacquer. Just a minimum amount gives a strong, durable surface that will last for generations.

 |
It won't turn yellow
The factory-applied UV-cured acrylic finish will resist most common household stains for up to 24 hours, and, unlike conventional lacquer, it will not yellow over time. |
 |
Traditional solid wood cut
The Kahr's method of woodcutting, known as plain sawn, is the same technique used for our wood floors. The result is a much fi ner, more traditional wood grain that completely eliminates the splitting associated with peeled veneers. |
 |
Kahrs - The same as a solid
The construction of our floors takes full advantage of the entire wear layer on each plank. Kahrs plain-sawn wear layer is fully comparable in
thickness to a solid strip fl oor wear layer. This is because sanding is only possible down to the tongue and groove in solid floors. Kahrs solid top layer can be professionally sanded and refinished at least twice during its lifetime, guaranteed. This is not possible with thin peeled veneers. |
