Of course we’re biased, but we believe that we supply and install the most beautiful flooring in Auckland. Take a look at some of our past projects and you’ll see for yourself why we are so proud of what we do.
Floors that look this spectacular deserve some TLC. With a little care and attention, they’ll look beautiful for longer. We will always give you advice on floor care when you deal with us but in the meantime, here are a few simple tips.
- Cleaning is obviously a huge part of any care and maintenance routine but our flooring products make it very simple for you. For example, our Europlank flooring is treated with a UV-cured lacquer and this creates a lovely smooth surface that is extremely easy to clean. However, with any wood flooring product, we think it’s best to limit how much water you use. Frequent vacuuming is recommended to control dust and prevent grit particles from being walked into the surface. On occasions, you can clean the floor with a mop that has been well wrung. Use a neutral detergent with a maximum pH 8 – check the label on the packaging or contact the manufacturer directly for this information. Ensure any water that is applied becomes dry within one minute. A spill won’t mark your floor if you wipe it up immediately.
- Some precautionary measures will also come in handy. For example, keep a doormat both outside and inside your entrance doors. This will remove any dirt and gravel from shoes before they can be walked in, and this will reduce unnecessary wear on your floor. Fit felt pads onto furniture legs to avoid unnecessary marks and scratches on the floor – this is particularly important for chairs which are constantly being moved as people get up from the dining room table during the course of the evening. Also, castor cups will protect the floor from damage. After a few years, you can easily revitalise the floor with an additional coat of lacquer but get a professional in to do this for you. And always mop up any spills; don’t let water or other liquids lie on the floor for any length of time.
As we said earlier, we’ll provide more detailed information on care and maintenance for your floors when we install them. We truly love our floors, and we want you to love them as much as we do. With the right cleaning and precautionary steps, you will love those floors for many years. For more advice on looking after your floors and showing them the TLC they deserve, feel free to contact us.
