As well as our stunning prefinished timber flooring range, we also supply and fit luxury vinyl flooring. Modern home floors have to withstand a lot of tests. Spills, dust and plenty of footfall occurs over the years spent in your home That’s why we developed Kahrs Luxury Tiles vinyl flooring for everyday home use. For good looks and durability you can rely on, they combine the elegance of wood floors with all the benefits of modern technology and craftsmanship.
But with floors comes the need to introduce furniture, tables and chairs. Today we’re going to answer the important question, can you put heavy furniture on vinyl plank flooring?
Yes, although vinyl isn’t as durable as timber, our vinyl floors are well-designed and durable enough to be able to handle heavy furniture placed upon them. An extensive range of styles and colours means there’s a vinyl floor for every room in your home. Our vinyl floors are also completely phthalate-free.
However, these floors are sensitive to weight. You should be careful not to cause pinching, which could cause the outer layer when moving or dragging furniture. While vinyl planks can hold heavy furniture, there are a few ways to protect them if you want to be extra careful.
Rugs: Exposure to excessive moisture, sunlight or heat could potentially stress vinyl flooring. A rug can be a stylish addition to vinyl floors whilst offering added protection for the centre of the room.
Floor Cover: A protective material that can be installed on different types of floors. It’s durable, flexible, and versatile, and it’s scratch, scratch, and tear resistant, so you can redecorate without worrying about scratches and wear. Our floor protection product comes in a self-adhesive roll that is simply placed on the area of the floor you wish to protect and then cut to size. It is firmly held on by heavy-duty adhesive so it does not move until removed by hand.
Furniture Pads: Furniture pads are another effective tool for reducing floor damage. The idea is to minimise the surface of the furniture in contact with the floor.
Our vinyl floors are durable enough that unless you are particularly concerned with taking the above measures, your Kährs floors do not need to worry about protection. Just being careful when moving furniture will be enough to keep them looking as good as new for years to come.
