WOODEN FLOORS & COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS
ALL EUROPLANK PRODUCTS ARE SUITABLE FOR USE IN COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENTS BUT CARE MUST BE TAKEN TO ENSURE THAT THE FINAL SPECIFICATION SELECTS THE BEST PRODUCT FOR THE INTENDED USE.
Wherever possible select the hardest species that meets the aesthetic requirements of the design. Light woods such as Maple and Beech are hard and durable but their light colour makes them more susceptible to soiling. (particularly at the edges of the boards)
Our range of products is varied with a large number benefitting from additional design features such as brushing and hand scraping. In our opinion hand scraped or brushed material may be more problematic in heavy wear areas as the textured surface is more dirt sensitive. In the case of brushed floors the grain is more open and hand scraped materials will wear irregularly with the high points of the floor taking the bulk of the traffic.
The lacquers used to protect the floor are UV cured to ensure that the surface is hard enough to withstand heavy traffic. We do not over apply lacquer as this can result in a thick synthetic appearance on the surface of the floor.
In all cases where wooden floors are used in a commercial environment it is essential that the floor be kept clean and free from grit and moisture, which can rapidly erode the protective lacquer on the surface of the floor.
Follow our maintenance recommendations and clean the floor regularly using dry methods (such as sweeping or vacuum cleaning) wet cleaning using a well wrung out mop should be used less frequently and when the floor becomes difficult to clean this is a clear indication that a buff and re-coat may be required.
